There’s no contest regarding these popular and affordable camera brands: Wyze wins, hands-down. While some Blink specs look better on paper, Wyze cameras outperformed Blink cameras during hands-on testing. The best thing Blink has going for it is its two-year maximum battery life, but Wyze’s isn’t half bad at six months.

Wyze vs. Blink similarities

Both Wyze and Blink sell compact, affordable security cameras for indoor and outdoor use, including a video doorbell, floodlight camera, wireless and wired cameras, and a pan-and-tilt option.

The Wyze Cam v3 is arguably the most popular camera in Wyze’s collection, and is most similar to the Blink Mini. Here’s what they both have in common:

  • Local storage option
  • Cameras under $40
  • 1080p resolution
  • Power cord
  • 1-year limited warranty

That’s it! Although they share a boxy design and foldable stand, the Wyze Cam v3 and Blink Mini are quite different “under the hood.”

Wyze vs. Blink differences

Wyze has more to offer than Blink in terms of, well, everything. We can’t get over the quality differences between Wyze cameras and Blink cameras—especially since Wyze is easier to set up and typically more affordable.

  • Compatibility: Wyze works with Amazon Alexa and Google Home, whereas Blink only integrates with Amazon Alexa.
  • Security system integration: Wyze also sells a security system, so its cameras work seamlessly with other security equipment. There’s no Blink security system, but Blink cameras work with Abode Home Security through IFTTT.
  • Battery life: Blink’s battery-powered cameras can hold a charge for up to two years, but you’ll need to use the lowest-quality settings to eke out that lifespan. Wyze’s only battery-powered option—the Wyze Cam Outdoor—has a maximum battery life of just six months.
  • Adjustable settings: Resolution and frame rate are adjustable on Blink cameras but not on Wyze cameras. However, this doesn’t work in Blink’s favor because Wyze’s image quality is better than Blink’s in both daytime and nighttime conditions.
  • Field of view: Wyze cams have a wider field of view than Blink cams.
  • Cloud video storage history: WWyze Cam v3 snippet imageyze offers free 14-day cloud storage. Blink’s 30- to 60-day cloud video storage starts at about $3/month.

Wyze cameras: Best overall

Wyze cameras performed much better than Blink cameras during our tests, whether we looked at image quality, audio quality, ease of setup, notification frequency, or special features.

And since they’re often more affordable than Blink cameras—or, in some instances,  the same price—Wyze Cams are the better budget pick too.

Blink Cameras: Best battery life

If you want a basic set-it-and-forget-it outdoor security camera, the Blink Outdoor will serve you well. Just keep in mind that you’ll sacrifice some video quality in exchange for only worrying about batteries once every two years.

Other than that, we can’t come up with a compelling reason to choose other Blink cameras over Wyze cameras.

Winner: Wyze Cameras

With better performance and smart home compatibility, the affordable Wyze lineup wins our vote. That said, Blink’s impressive battery life and longer cloud storage options may appeal to some.

How we decided: Wyze vs. Blink

We based our Wyze vs. Blink review on our hands-on testing experiences. We’ve tested the Wyze OG, v2, v3, and v3 Pro, the Wyze Cam Pan v2 and v3, and the Wyze Video Doorbell. On the Blink side, we’ve tested the Mini, the Outdoor, and the Video Doorbell. We’ve logged hundreds of hours testing other security camera brands too, and we put that knowledge to use in our reviews whenever we compare a brand to other options on the market.
