Take a look at any of our security camera guides here at SafeWise and you’re sure to find the name ‘Reolink’ more than a few times. Though not as well-known as the likes of Ring and Google Nest, Reolink has been quietly kicking goals for the last few years, with its excellent Argus 3 Pro wireless security camera holding the top spot in our best home security camera list since SafeWise Australia launched back in 2022.

But its time at the top may be short-lived, thanks to the launch of the brand’s new dual-lens PoE security camera. The Reolink Duo 3 PoE is the industry’s very first 16MP security camera and offers a mammoth 180-degree viewing angle by stitching the two lenses together to create one seamless 16-million-pixel view. Additionally, both lenses are surrounded by bright spotlights, allowing for full-colour recording even in the middle of the night. It also comes in a tamper-proof dome design for those requiring extra security.

Unveiled at CES in Las Vegas, we had the opportunity to get hands-on with the Reolink Duo 3 PoE and were incredibly impressed by the clarity of the picture.

As you can see in the image above, facial details are crisp and even text from booths considerably far away is still legible.

The camera also features Motion Track, which can display a person’s movements in a single image by stitching together multiple frames in one, meaning you can track a person’s trajectory without having to load any footage. As with many of Reolink’s security cameras, the Duo 3 PoE boasts Two-Way Audio and Smart Detection, which enables the user to receive notifications when a person, car or animal is detected with a reduction in false alarms caused by shadows and creepy-crawlies.

As a Power over Ethernet (PoE) camera, the Duo 3 PoE is compatible with existing Reolink NVRs, however users can also store footage directly to a microSD card or FTP server.

The Reolink Duo 3 PoE is available now in Australia at an RRP of $309.99. However, at the time of writing, Reolink is running a 5% off promotion, bringing it under $300. We're currently testing the Duo 3 PoE, so check back in a week or two to read our full review.

Disclosure: SafeWise Australia and Reviews.org Australia's coverage of CES 2024 is supported by Samsung, MSI and Reolink.
