If you're looking to shore up your home security without breaking the bank, next week may be your best opportunity, thanks to Aldi's Ring Spotlight Cam Special Buy.

On sale from Wednesday, June 19, the Ring Spotlight Camera comes in white or black and costs only $99.99, which is exceptionally cheap for a wireless security camera, coming in at just over half its original $189 RRP.

Although the Ring Spotlight Cam has been superseded by the newer (and much more expensive) Ring Spotlight Cam Plus and is no longer available for sale, it still boasts many of the same features, including HD resolution, two-way talk, a remote-activated siren, and weather resistance. It's battery-powered, meaning it can be placed just about anywhere, and you can even add a compatible solar panel to keep it charged 24/7.

Ring Spotlight Cam

Is it worth it?

Although the Aldi Special Buys Ring Spotlight Cam is an older model, it's still a fantastic value buy for under $100 and is well worth throwing in the trolley with your fruit and veg. That said, because it is an older model, it may not get as many years of firmware updates and product support as the newer Spotlight Cam Plus.

It's also important to consider ongoing fees. No Ring security cameras (or video doorbells, for that matter) include a local storage option, meaning if you want to record any video or use advanced features like person and package alerts, you'll need to fork out an additional $4.95 per month or $49.95 per year to do so (or more if you have more than one Ring camera).

Without a Ring Protect plan, you can still use the camera to check the live feed or activate the alarm, but we recommend looking elsewhere if you're after a more fully-featured security camera that doesn't require a subscription.
